charging time off?

Post by peterc » Mon Jul 04, 2016 5:38 pm

I did a few cycles of CDC, but it seems like the charging time reported is off from the reality. It showed 75 minutes of charging, but based on the timestamp (and actual time it took to charge) was about 164 minutes. what is going on here? please see attached screenshot.

also, all rest times and top off have been set to 0.

thanks! Peter

Hi Peter,

The total charging time is the amount of time spent actually putting charge into the cell - in normal charging mode, the charger alternates between the channels - it also has short pauses where it measures the cell voltage with no current flowing, so it's normal for the charging time to show a bit less than half the total amount of time from start to finish.

If you change the charging mode to "Fast" you should find that the reported charging time is much closer to actual total time from start to finish, although it will still be a bit less because of the charging pauses.
