Zooming in and out on charts with the charger manager

Hi Mark, When looking at the charts, I see you can zoom in by clicking and dragging the mouse (as if you were highlighting an area to zoom in on, although the outline isn't shown).... but how do you get the daft thing to zoom out again? Zoomed in on a chart earlier, and changing charges, and even re...

Purpose of 2 pin header connection?

Hi Mark (and Paul!), Firstly, would like to say my new toy arrived this afternoon, and works great so far. Nice blinky lights, and is giving some batteries a good working out. Thank you for the great charger Paul! And Mark, your software is great - makes customising settings a breeze, and the graphs...

Re: 2AA charger availabilty

Hi, Units are being built and sent from Paul's workshop in the US as far as I know. I don't think the charger is available to the public yet, as the kickstarter fulfilment isn't quite finished. I am backer 222 of 270, and Paul has sent my charger a week or so ago, so fulfilment isn't far from being ...

Re: Charger not recognized

Hey Mark, I should be receiving a charger shortly... so will be obvious once it arrives... but am I wrong in thinking the later version of the charger uses a built in USB transceiver (as in built in to the Atmel MCU) rather than a FTDI based one? Thus installing FTDI drivers won't fix the problem? P...

Re: Manager Software

Yes, that would be nice please Mark... probably adding to the Help -> About dialog would be the best place, as well as a version number in the filename since it is just one file. Also, you may want to consider changing the manifest for the app so it isn't version 1.0.0.0 for the next several version...

Re: FTDI pinout

Hi Frank, I could be on completely the wrong track here... but I think the 2x3 header is the ISCP programmer header, not for the FTDI. If your charger looks like the one from post linked below at [1], then it already has an onboard FTDI chip, and you just need to plug it into the computer to access ...

Re: Video

Funny you say that... I was about to suggest the same thing. Unfortunately, not all Micro USB cables are the same, so it is worth checking. Some are intended for charging only, so the data connections aren't connected to anything. Best thing to do is to get a cable that you know is properly wired - ...

Re: Best charger for NiZn?

I agree with the assessment on that forum. Since the general consensus seems to be that NiMH is considered 'flat' at 0.9v, I don't see any reason that using the same rule of thumb on NiZN would overly harm them. Having said that, this datasheet ( https://www1.elfa.se/data1/wwwroot/assets/datasheets/...

Re: Best charger for NiZn?

Depends on how much you know about electronics. In a nutshell, varying the duty cycle of a PWM signal varies the output voltage. i.e. a if you have a mosfet controlling the output from a 5v power source, and you run the PWM control signal at 50%, you get approximately 2.5v at the output once you smo...

Re: Best charger for NiZn?

I believe that the LCD model is shelved for now due to too many issues such as faulty LCDs, intermittent failures after extended use, etc. The 4 battery model is still planned AFAIK, but I suspect won't be happening for a while until the Kickstarter backlog for the 2 battery units is dealt with. PWM...
